More than 160 supporters of the AGS Foundation for Health and Aging and its work on behalf of older adults attended the FHA's 9th annual Lifetime of Caring Gala at Manhattan's landmark Plaza Hotel January 28.
Hosted by Hugh Downs, one of the best known figures in broadcasting history, the Gala celebrated the Foundation's accomplishments over the past year, and the contributions of those who generously support the organization. The Gala also recognized the important efforts of AstraZeneca US, of Evercare, and of renowned gerontologist, researcher, author, and administrator Robert N. Butler, MD -- efforts that have significantly enhanced the quality of life of older people.
Proceeds from the Gala support the important work of the Foundation. Established by the American Geriatrics Society in 1999, the FHA advocates on behalf of older adults and their special healthcare needs; supports elder health research; provides public education for older people and their caregivers; and helps older adults find geriatrics healthcare providers in their neighborhoods.
Thank you to all the donors and supporters of the 2009 Lifetime of Caring Gala!
