Glaucoma

Diagnosis & Tests

An optometrist or ophthalmologist will usually do the following to check for glaucoma:

• Ask whether you have any risk factors for  glaucoma
• Check your vision
• Measure the fluid pressure inside your eyes
• Measure the thickness of your cornea
• Check your peripheral and central vision to see if it might have been affected by glaucoma
• Look at your retina (theinner surface of your eye)
• Check your optic nerve for signs of damage
• Do additional tests if needed.
