Glaucoma
Diagnosis & Tests
An optometrist or ophthalmologist will usually do the following to check for glaucoma:
- Ask whether you have any risk factors for glaucoma
- Check your vision
- Measure the fluid pressure inside your eyes
- Measure the thickness of your cornea
- Check your peripheral and central vision to see if it might have been affected by glaucoma
- Look at your retina (theinner surface of your eye)
- Check your optic nerve for signs of damage
- Do additional tests if needed.
