Elder Mistreatment - What to Ask?

The following are questions you can ask your health care provider if you are concerned about Elder mistreatment. It is important to talk to your health care provider, and report any cases of Elder Mistreatment that you are suspicious of.

  1. What do you mean by elder mistreatment?
  2. Am I in danger of elder mistreatment? Can it happen to me?
  3. My family accepts money from me, is that elder mistreatment?
  4. Can someone get in trouble for this?
  5. If it happens to me, will I be taken from my home?
  6. What are some signs of Elder mistreatment that I should be aware of?
  7. What should I do if I am aware that a friend or neighbor is being mistreated?
