LDL
The "bad" cholesterol associated with increased chance of developing atherosclerosis.

Lewy Bodies
In Lewy Body Dementia, abnormal round structures that develop in areas of the brain that involve thinking and moving the body.

Ligament
A tough band of tissue that: 1) connects bone or cartilages at joints; and 2) support an organ (like the bladder) and holds it in place.

Lumbar
The area of the low back below the lungs and above the pelvis.

Lung Washes
A test done by putting a small amount of salt water in the lung and then taking it out again for testing.

Lymph Node
One of many small groups of tissue which drains fluid, dead cells, abnormal parts, and infection from the body.
