OTHER FUNDING

Applicants must adhere to JAHF/AGS Foundation for Health in Aging Geriatrics Health Outcomes Research Scholars Awards Program guidelines and restrictions regarding current and projected sources of research funding. The Scholar's institution may use internal funding to supplement the grant or the Scholar's salary, as it deems appropriate, consistent with institutional policy. Additional internal or external funding does not preclude applying for this award, provided that the other funding augments the Scholar's ability to conduct the proposed study (e.g., allows for recruitment of a larger sample, or additional analyses). However, applicants who have an individual research career development award (i.e., a Beeson, K08, KL2, K23, or VA Career Development Award) are not eligible to receive this award.

Internal or external additional funding could be used to support another project. In this case, the applicant must state how s/he will ensure that a signifi cant portion of the 75% protected research time will be devoted to the project proposed in this application. Applicants who have additional research funding are asked to state how the funds for this award would integrate with current funding with respect to salary/percent effort and project support. Scholars must inform the AGS Foundation for Health in Aging of any awards received between the time they are notifi ed of their selection to the end of their tenure as Scholars.

GACA recipients are not excluded from applying.
