Sponsored by The John A. Hartford Foundation, in collaboration with the AGS Foundation for Health in Aging, the Hartford Geriatrics Health Outcomes Research Scholars Awards Program supports physician-scientists committed to improving the health care of older adults during the critical transition from junior faculty to independent researcher.
An academic advisory board composed of distinguished academic geriatricians selects up to four recipients annually. Each receives a $200,000 grant over a two-year period to perform studies in outcomes research addressing clinical strategies, innovative outcomes measures and quality of life. Research findings are presented at the American Geriatrics Society Annual Scientific Meeting at the conclusion of the recipient's grant.
