The Foundation for Health in Aging, in partnership with Pfizer Global and US Pharmaceuticals, sponsored the Pfizer/FHA Junior Faculty Scholar Awards for Research on Health Outcomes in Geriatrics from 1986 - 2004. Each year, scholars were awarded $130,000 for a two-year pursuit of original outcomes research in geriatric medicine, with the specific goal of improving the quality of life of older adults. The Junior Faculty Scholars Program endeavored to help physician-scientists during the critical transition from junior faculty to independent researcher. This program was discontinued after the 2004 award year.
Pfizer continues to be an enthusiastic partner in the FHA's endeavors to identify and support the future leaders who will contribute to geriatric research and advance the quality of care in years to come.
