The AGS Foundation for Health in Aging is among the 68 national voluntary members of The Access to Benefits Coalition™ (ABC). ABC is working to ensure that at least 5.5 million low-income beneficiaries receive the $600 Medicare drug discount card program in 2005 to help pay for their medications.
The goal of the Coalition is to quickly and measurably educate Medicare beneficiaries with lower incomes; help them make informed choices about prescription savings programs; and help them enroll in prescription savings programs.
There are lots of ways these days for people with Medicare - especially those who really need the help -- to lower the costs of their prescription drugs. The Access to Benefits Coalition™ offers people with Medicare (and those who help them) a free, easy and confidential way to find out how to reduce their prescription drug costs.

The Access to Benefits Coalition (ABC) is working to make sure all of those who are eligible to receive a Medicare Approved Drug Discount Card are able to do so easily and quickly with their Medicare Card Finder program. The Medicare Card Finder is a fast and free service to help people with Medicare choose and enroll in the Medicare-approved drug discount card that will save the most money on their current prescription drugs. With some basic information about you and a few minutes of you time, ABC will help you decide what card is right for you and even get you signed up for that card immediately.
So if your income is below $12,569 if you are single (or $16,862 if you are married), you may be eligible to save at least $600 - and maybe a lot more - on your medications. Visit the Access to Benefits Coalition website at
www.accesstobenefits.org to find the drug discount card that is right for you.
The Access to Benefits Coalition™(ABC) offers a free, easy and confidential way to find out how to reduce your prescription drug costs. To use the BenefitsCheckUpRx™ program all you need to do is fill out an online questionnaire and submit it. ABC then checks your eligibility for over 260 programs and gives you a personalized report that tells you which programs you are eligible for. By doing this, you can figure out what combination of prescription savings programs - both public and private - will work best for you.
You can also enroll in the programs you choose right on the ABC website's enrollment center. There you will find hundreds of prescription drug savings program enrollment forms. Some you can fill in online right on your computer, but most you will have to print out and send in the mail.
If you want to learn more about the types of programs listed in your area before you fill out the questionnaire, you can look at a Prescription Drug Savings Guide for your state first or check to see if there is a local Access to Benefits Coalition office near you.
