Every year, the FHA Student Researcher Fund provides students from all disciplines with funding to enable them to attend and participate in the AGS Annual Meeting. At the meeting, students present their work through poster sessions as well as interact with nationally known faculty. This experience is considered pivotal in helping students set their future course in medicine. The AGS believes that it may potentially advance the recruitment of young persons into careers as geriatrics health care providers.
The FHA Student Researcher Fund is supported by ticket sales for the annual fundraiser An Evening with Friends, by corporate sponsorship, and by individual donations. This year, you can also choose to Sponsor & Mentor A Student!
*NEW!* Sponsor & Mentor a Student! It's easy, fun, and tax deductible.
This year - for just $500 (the average cost for R/T airfare and one night's hotel for students attending and presenting at the AGS Annual Meeting) - you can not only support a student who is presenting at the meeting, but mentor one as well! You can choose a student that you would like to sponsor, or we can match you with a student attendee, providing contact information and career interests, before the meeting.
This year, there are 127 students presenting at the 2008 AGS Annual Meeting. Click here to meet the students presenting at this year’s AGS Annual Meeting.
If you are interested in sponsoring a student please complete a Sponsor A Student Interest Form. If you have a specific student in mind, please indicate his or her name on the “other” line. For more information contact Li-Chia Ong at long@americangeriatrics.org.
Corporate Sponsorship and Individual Donations
Corporate sponsors and Individuals can also support the Student Researcher Fund through the FHA's secure online donation form.
Any contribution, big or small is very much appreciated and will help fund a student to attend the Annual Meeting.
