Give a Gift of Stock

A gift of appreciated securities, including stocks and bonds allows the AGS Health in Aging Foundation to put the power and potential of the geriatrics professional community to work for us all as we age.  Gifts of stock also offer you access to several important benefits, including:

  • Receiving a charitable income tax deduction
  • Supporting our mission and care for us all as we age

Donating stock is a simple process that takes only a few minutes.  Please follow these steps:

Coordinate Planned Giving: Wills, Trusts and Annuities

Planned gifts in wills, trusts, and annuities support some of our most expansive initiatives benefitting older adults, caregivers, and geriatrics healthcare professionals. Gifts can include cash, appreciated securities, real estate, personal property, IRAs and retirement plans, and life insurance.

How do I leave a bequest to the Health in Aging Foundation?

You may wish to name the Health in Aging Foundation as a beneficiary of a percentage your estate, or name a specific dollar amount or a particular asset. If applicable, your estate is entitled to a tax deduction for the full value of your bequest.  Your attorney will discuss with you all of your options and the best way to realize your goal of supporting the Health in Aging Foundation.

If you wish to include a bequest to the Health in Aging Foundation in your will or trust, we suggest sharing the following language with your attorney:

Planning for the Health in Aging Foundation Through Beneficiary Designations

Many estate assets may be transferred outside of your will. These include qualified bank and brokerage accounts, retirement plan assets, and the proceeds from life insurance policies. You may name the Health in Aging Foundation as a beneficiary of these assets, or as a contingent beneficiary in the event that the loved one you named as primary beneficiary is no longer living at the time of your death.
